BBQ Kale Chips

March 1, 2013

During the summer I became slightly obsessed with kale. Now it doesn't exactly juice like a gem, but it makes great chips. I've added it to green smoothies only to have to chew a lot, it definitely doesn't break down the same way spinach does. Then again, that is what makes it so perfect for chips. If ever you are craving chips this is the way to go:)

What you need:
several handfuls of kale - enough to cover a baking sheet in a single layer
olive oil spray
McCormick Grill Mates Memphis Pit BBQ Rub - a few dashs

What to do:
Preheat over to 400. Spray a baking sheet with olive oil spray and place kale in a single layer on the baking sheet. Spray kale with olive oil. Sprinkle on BBQ rub to your taste. Bake 12 minutes or until crispy. Serve hot.

I've tried these with sugar also sprinkled on and I can't tell enough of a difference to leave the ingredient in. Pinterest has a lot of great kale chip ideas, I really hoped the Salt and Vinegar would be my favorite, but it wasn't. I don't like this seasoning on meat so much, but kale definitely:)
