I have gotten to were life updates are all I am coming up with for the blog. With that, here's life as of late.
I found this wrapping paper at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago, the boys and I always hunt for a new color every year. This was fit the bill perfectly, plaid and folk hearts. Honestly I wish I had bought every roll they had, I'd only wrap in this for the rest of my life.
You can probably tell that I am not an elaborate wrapper. I really love a brown cardstock tag with twine, the twine color tends to change depending on the paper I find.
I've really come to enjoy this age with the kids. Everyone is easy to take places, they can self entertain, we know how to act in a restaurant. A few weeks ago Jeremy was out of town for a youth trip, so the boys and I went on a dinner date after KidStrong. Five Guys is probably our favorite place to eat.
Our church had their annual Night at Bethleham event last weekend. The boy's favorite part is always the petting zoo. This year Elliot was brave enough to pick up animals and cuddle the bunnies to death. When we got home he asked me if I ever wanted a bunny as a little kid. I had to break the news to him that not only did I have a bunny, Dad breed them. We had tons of bunnies.
I had to dig up the photo of Dad and Laura that I knew my sister had on her Facebook. There is nothing better than a litter of baby bunnies.
These are the kinds of things that I wish Dad could still be around for. He loved animals and the boys would be getting such a kick out of helping him with ducks or whatever he currently would have in the yard.
I love seeing the kids get excited about new things, they had never held a bird this up close. Of course we've been in that bird cage at the zoo, but their favorite Peyton getting birds was a bigger treat. Harry had a blast and Elliot squealed like the big fat chicken baby that he is.
I laugh so much at Dill and his antics. He is such a sweet dog and in true oldest child behavior - always follows the rules. Once he got past being a puppy he hasn't been up to mischief once. But anxiety, that is where he struggles. Poor baby desperately wants to be in the center of what we are doing, but when new people are over he just can't get it together. We had friends over for pizza a week ago and he sat behind my chair with his eyes bugged out, letting the intrusive thoughts win.
If he is really nervous he just stays in our bedroom or the back of the house, so I could tell just how much he wanted to participate since he was up front trying his best to not be awkward. Only issue is, he is so super awkward.
Facebook reminded me that it has been exactly a decade since we took my absolute favorite family christmas picture ever. Shout out to my sister for always taking the shot for me when I get everything set up and tell her my ideas.
What I should really put up are the practice shots I took with her in my spot while I was getting camera settings straight.
Y'all can pick on Jeremy for eternity for this one, but nothing says love like agreeing to wear long johns at a tree farm for your crazy new mom of a wife.
