{cause I'm happy just to dance with you}

April 28, 2010

Here are a few pics of Jer and I dancing at our family friend Mrs. Grace's wedding a few weeks ago. I didn't realize how long my hair had gotten, yay;)

Dancing while still wearing a purse. That didn't last long.
Jeremy decided we should attempt to flip. I went well...but have you noticed how short my dress is?
Hopefully no one got a glimpse of what God gave me ha ha. This last pic was when he was talking me into just going through with it.

Happy Wednesday!

{you say tomato, I say tomato}

April 25, 2010

***All pics are before we met

I'll be the first to admit my husband and I are complete opposites. He rides bike trails, like tattoos, and jumps in the middle of any mosh pit he comes within 30 yards of. He has had his nose broken at a concert...and I saw a redneck attempt to fight him at a Chevelle concert because attempted to start a mosh pit{side note-don't mosh in Mississippi}.

{J getting pushed into a mosh pit by our friend Doug}

{just realized he is wearing the same shirt in both pics}

{callie pointing out Jer got his tongue pierced}

I on the other hand workout because I have to, unlike Jer. Love cooking, girly things{although I don't dress up every waking minute}, and couldn't catch a ball with a net the size of Utah. I like music...but screamo is something Jer introduced me to. I prefer bands from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Also, I have a tattoo but you would only see it if I was nearly naked and pointing at it{long term relationship ended and I went berserk}.

{bathing my little ellie in the sink}

{again with the little dog, headband, and sweater. all of which you don't see emo kids wearing}

{me and my gay husband ryan @ britt's bachelorette party in New Orleans}

Funny how I started dating someone who had more in common with my sister. Laura is the band chick, I picked on her to death about Meriwether and vest. Now I think I've seen more Meriwether shows than she has. J is in more ways than one the type of guy I would never have thought twice about but somehow married, and am so in love with. I'm sure I'm just as much not his type too. But somehow it works.

I don't have a pic of J and I at the concert but here is one of Doug and me.
Notice the vest and gray v-neck shirt. This was at the Chevelle concert from last year that J was nearly mobbed by rednecks for moshing. Maybe it is just me but I think my taste has kind of sort of merged with J's emo screamo-ish band image. By the way we were holding onto the guard rail for dear life, and Jer is the hand you see behind me..causing trouble of course.

Show Us Your Life-How We Met

April 23, 2010

This week at Kelly's Korner the topic is "How you met your husband". There are two sides to our story...it is pretty funny when if you ever get the chance to hear us both argue the whole time we tell it together. Not that how we met is funny so much as how delusional Jeremy is about it is funny.

To start with, we are both Psychology major and officially met in Dr. Stephen's Perception class. According to Jeremy we were on the same Jeopardy team every test week in that class...I was too busy arguing with my ex-boyfriend in there to even tell. Plus I usually sat in the front and argued about answers with people. Jeremy on the other hand isn't as outspoken.

At the end of that semester I ran into Jeremy outside Starbucks and told him that our little group of Psychology friends were all taking this senior psychology exit class together {once again can't remember the name of it} and that he should register for it too. Right about here is where he inserts his side of the story about how I stalked him all the way to Starbucks and begged him to take the class and basically threw myself at him. Poor boy was sadly mistaken, I was simply being nice...I didn't even think he was cute.

Fast forward to the worst Spring semester on the face of the earth. This senior Psychology class sucked up a storm, we had to do several presentations...and the quickest way to a panic attack for me is to do a presentation. So the day comes and here it is time for me to present my big to-do about Eastern Religion, and I was freaking out. I realized Jeremy was scheduled to present the same day so I decided to get his number from a friend and start texting him death threats{complete joke}. He wound up presenting before me...only because I lied and said I forgot my flash drive. Somehow this led to him sending me a really stupid text message that night that read "What are the chances of a guy like you liking a girl like me?" Weird right? Honestly I don't remember much between that am him constantly wanting to hang out after that and trying to find anyway on earth to get him to not come over.

Well after much convincing by my best friend I decide to start willingly hanging out with Jeremy which leads to this big group date to a bowling ally. That was Monday, by Thursday everyone had backed out but us, so we went anyway. {allow me to add here I had no clue at this point he drove a motorcycle}

Shortly after that another "group" thing comes up and we all get tickets to see Jeremy's favorite band Emery. And once again everyone backs out but us....things were getting fishy. Not being the type to let people get us down we borrow my Dad's truck and head up to Little Rock, AR for the concert. It was probably the best date ever, and an actual "date" at that. Great concert too by the way, my sister informed me that I was a complete priss and dressed completely wrong for a screamo concert.

{me with the guy from Pierce the Veil}

{Jeremy and I at the concert}

After that we started dating and spending a lot more time together...kind of a memory lapse here because I really don't remember a whole lot until he left for Africa on a mission trip for three weeks. That was a pretty lame three weeks too. If I am left alone and bored bad things happen...I chopped my long hair way off into a short bob. Bad idea. It didn't look too hot.

{the night he left for Africa, still had long hair}

After he got back from Africa all I can remember of that summer is waking up at 7am everyday and going to the gym. Next thing you know we got engaged.

{at church right after we got engaged, thanks Ashley for the pic it's the only one from that day}

After that there is another huge blur...grad school application...wedding planning...graduation.
{wedding day}
Looking back on it I have no idea what the hurry was, although it didn't seem to go as fast as it did. We started dating March 16, 2008 and were engaged sometime in August then got married May 2009.

I'd like to say that was the happiest day of my life and all I could think about was getting married but nope. I was terrified that I had to kiss a guy in front of my parents and grandparents. Awkward.

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Wedding Chicks Monogram

April 22, 2010

I wish I had known of this site when I was wedding planning. I found it today while attempting to read through my Google Reader...which might I add after the craziness this week email and blogs have been neglected.

But the total point of this. Wedding Chicks is just about the most awesome wedding blog I have found! I downloaded this really cool personalized monogram from them today...for free!

This would look totally awesome on stationary or on anything int he universe wedding related or not. I think I am going to print this one out and frame it in a cute little frame and put it on our nightstand{I am a monogram freak}, and maybe one without the date to use on stationary. This my just motivate me to send more snail mail to friends!

Here is the link to get directly to the monogram:

Weird Little Maddie

April 18, 2010

I have never met a dog that liked music this much. Not to mention crazy loud music. I am guessing Maddie is a deaf as Jeremy{literally, my husband has no ear drums}. I just can't believe she will lay like this in front of the amp. I can't hardly to stand to be in the house with that loud amp.

Needless to say Ellie and I shut them in their and go to another room...several closed doors away.

***Pop you should be proud, not only did a hunt down a music loving grandson-in-law for you, your fur-grandchild likes music too.

{saturday}

Yesterday we had a free day and decided to drive up to Vicksburg, MS on the motorcycle. Why we don't check the weather I will never know but it started getting dark and gloomy about the time we got past Rayville but then cleared up again once we were at the Battlefield. If you happen to have a motorcycle you should really ride over to Vicksburg or any National Park around the country. It is absolutely beautiful riding around the civil war battlefield during the spring. Here are a few pics from our day:

We stopped for a few minutes and had a little picnic of Subway, love some Subway. Notice Jeremy isn't in the picture with me, I think he is attempting to avoid the blog.

This is what I looked at most of the day. Oh and how do you like my motorcycle gear? By the way it is not a good idea to take a 60+ mile trip on a bike in a tank top and workout shorts...I burned big time.
U.S.S. Cairo by the Mississippi River.
At this point I thought Jeremy was pulling the bike around to pick me up.
But since I wouldn't quit with the camera he kept going. So I started walking. When I finally caught up with him he decided he would just keep messing with me, because he is just so nice like that.
We finally made it to the Confederate side! Louisiana monument.

We headed home after this. Needless to say on the way home we ran into our dark cold clouds again...and they were cold cold! Luckily we didn't get any rain, until we were almost in Monroe...then we got a few sprinkles that luckily didn't turn into anything major until we made it home. It was a great time though. It has been so long since I've been on the bike for very long that I had totally forgotten how crazy it makes your skin feel to have wind hitting it going 80mph on the interstate for any period of time.

What did y'all do this weekend?

German Pancake

April 17, 2010

You must make this. It is about the easiest thing on the face of the earth. And I can guarantee you have all of these ingredients in your house as we speak.

German Pancake

Heat oven to 400° F.

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs to combine. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Add the milk, salt, and vanilla and mix until incorporated; set aside. Add the butter to a large cast-iron skillet and transfer to oven until the butter melts. Remove from oven and quickly pour the batter into the hot skillet. Return to oven and bake until the pancake is puffed and golden, about 15 minutes. Drizzle the lemon juice (if using) over the pancake. Spread the jam (if using) evenly over the top. Sprinkle with the confectioners sugar.

Blonde Moment

April 16, 2010

I just had a blonde moment so big I basically stroked out on the blonde moment scale.

As usual it suddenly hits me today that yet again it is the middle of the month and I have nearly forgotten about the motorcycle bill again. You might say "How do you forget the bill?" Well here is how, everything else is due at the begining of the month...except for the good ole Yamaha V-Star bill. So upon recognition of my forgetfulness I start paying bills and and head for stamps to find I am one short. No problem though I decided to just head on over to the post office buy more stamps and mail off the bills.

After driving over to the post office I get out, walk in and don't immediately see the stamp kiosk so I just run on over to mail them. I tried to stick all four bills in four times with no luck, one kept getting stuck on something. I should have had some sort of oh crap I need a stamp thought but no I kept going. So I stick them in one by one and merrily walk out of the place like I completed my task at hand, get out the door and realize what I had just done. Yup, I mailed a bill with no stamp. Luckily it was the cable bill that isn't due for a few weeks. But still, how on earth did I have that big of a brain fart?

Blonde stroke?
..........................................
Oh, what is this mess about people not wanting to fill out the Census? I got wind today from my sister about some article in the local paper saying people won't fill out the Census form because it wants too much information. Seriously? That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard! Ours came in and was filled out in {literally} less than five minutes. Jeremy got home and didn't even realize it had already been filled out and brought it back inside.

Dear Idiot People,

Fill out your Census form! You are complete idiots for not doing it. Writing your name and address and who on earth you are married to and gave birth to takes no time. If you don't want the government to know you exist, then don't exist. Until then, fill out the stupid form, or move to another country.

Love,
 Me

{fill in the blank friday}

Brought to you by:

1.  The first thing I do in the morning is   literally  roll out of our huge bed and drag my still asleep but to the shower .

2.  Every night before bed  I     catch up on DVR shows, set my alarm, turn the air down really low, take off my makeup, turn off my phone, and put on my eye mask .

3.  My favorite thing to do when I'm having a bad day is      eat McDonald's or go for frozen yogurt and watch TV   .

4.  Something that makes me cringe is    people popping their knuckles. I hate it! A guy sat next to me in Sunday School once and spent what seemed like forever popping every part of his body. I nearly died since I couldn't freak out as usual and cover my ears and yell at him like I would other people outside of a classroom setting    .

5.  Social situations    are fun depending on who I am around. If it is a bunch of people I know well I am okay, but otherwise I sorta stress .

6.  I like to collect      antiques, preferably family antiques. I just love to buy something old and fix it up into something new and t   .

7.  Weekends are for      catching up on sleep, homework, housework, and spending quality time with my husband and furbabies    .

Hope y'all have a great weekend!
What kind of things do you have planned?

{diet hell}

April 13, 2010

When complaining to my mother this week about how I am not as skinny as I once was, not that I'm a heifer as of right now...but this body is doing it's best to work that way she simply replied "Welcome to your 30's." Yeah, I know I'm not in my 30's, hopefully my mother knows that too, but apparently this is the time in a girl's {particularly girls in my family} life that her body quits acting like she wants it too. Oh yay, I'm over joyed. Since I met Jeremy {hence forth the problem} I have fought weight off like a 5th grader fighting off homework. I hate my tall skinny husband's metabolism with a passion. Funny my Dad is a skinny mini as well, seems women in our family are trying to breed towards taller skinnier relatives. But lets get to the point.

I may not have said it but I am not a diet person. I like to just eat healthy, which tall skinny husband doesn't totally allow for around here with his Easter candy buying self. I know I've mentioned the ABs Diet on here before and I just love it. The whole book isn't about a "diet", it is more about eating a healthy balanced diet. Which I have done for quite some time before meeting Jeremy...who up until I started cooking for the boy ate Taco Bell religiously.

Here is a run down of what I eat in a normal week:
Breakfast-decaf latte with fat free milk and Splenda, whole wheat toast with hummus
Snack- orange
Lunch-Salad with Pearl St dressing, whole wheat crackers with Laughing Cow cheese, hummus and celery
Snack- banana, nuts, or a 100 cal pack of popcorn if I'm in the mood
Dinner- (last week) Aztec Casserole

Granted this may not be the healthiest thing on the planet, but it is hard to eat as super healthy as I did in undergrad college when I was single and didn't work during the week. So after many weeks of frustration with about 5-7 pounds that will not go away I am going on the extreme "so not healthy" diet this week. Allow me to demonstrate in pictures.

Breakfast-decaf latte w/ f-free milk and Splenda & Slim Fast

Dinner:

Snack: {solely to convince myself I'm not doing this...and it's not working for me}

Sugar-free Jello. I am eating it like crazy...and after all that sweet crap during the day I am dying for something else and that is when I hit up these puppies.

For some reason I don't think I am going to make it through this week. What stupid wacky diets have y'all done?

Tummy Time

April 10, 2010

Not exactly what you expected? Well Ellie loves Joshua's activity mat just as much as any other baby. As soon as, and I mean AS SOON AS, we got to my parents house from the Catfish Festival today Ellie parked it here and has taken up shop on the activity mat.

Someone also started out very happy...then ended up very unhappy. Due to the current protest of naps. Well one lap around the block with me and his grandpa and this is what we ended up with.
Sorry for the quality, the flash wasn't working out for me. Little dude was clear out of it. I wound up having to walk around the house until he woke up because Laura didn't want to take him out.

Oh and here is a pic from last weekend I didn't get to post. Everybody after church on Easter Sunday.

Dad took the pic:)

Hope y'all have a great Saturday!

{much needed weekend}

Wow am I glad it's Saturday! This week was tough, probably the worst Friday so far. Most of my problem boils down to the fact my same "problem" I've had all year decided to show its ugly head again. Thankfully testing is next week and then we only have a few weeks left. Kinda nuts that I am actually looking forward to my insane summer class schedule...but an adults only summer is greatly needed.

Thus explaining how I can manage to not contract baby rabies quite as easily as other women my age.

However I am very happy to say it is SATURDAY, but sadly Saturday only last one day per week. {sigh} But we do have some totally rad weekend plans!

1. As soon as I get my butt up this morning we are packing and heading out to the Catfish Festival. I was super excited until I realized we are going to have the dogs with us. Ellie does much better in crowds than Maddie. Maddie tends to get nervous and freak out in crowded areas. So we may not be staying too long.

2. Mrs. Grace is getting married this evening! This will officially kick off wedding season for us. We have had so many wedding/shower/baby invites come in lately I don't know where they all are and fear I am forgetting about one.

3. Sunday morning before we leave I plan to have breakfast with my friend Gabby! Who might I add I haven't seen since she found out she was pregnant...and happens to finally fulfilling my request for someone to have a girl!

4. Sunday afternoon we have a wedding shower to go to! Since the groom is involved in the student ministry at our church the whole student ministry is throwing the wedding shower. I still need to buy gift...I am so behind on this. Maybe I can get this stuff out of the way at one of the cute shops downtown.

What do y'all have planned this weekend?

10 months down 2 to go

April 7, 2010

It has been almost a year since our wedding. Two months from shy of it actually. Luckily no one is dead and we currently both have all of our hair...and no broken bones. And the cops haven't been called once. I'd consider this a major accomplishment considering what is shown on the Maury show daily{haha}....plus there are no babies with questionable "baby daddy's." Good year.

Currently we are in agreement about going to Galveston for a few days after I get out of school and before Summer Session 1 starts. Whoo Hoo! I haven't been since I was windblown and nearly given away to a nut case stalker waiter by these girls (I'm in the center) two summers ago.
And was stalked to death by this little fellow while attempting to lay out in what felt like 60 degree weather.
This last one is of my best friend and MOH Gabby and I.
Love the girl but she needs to update her blog from time to time.

Can you believe how tan I was?? Yeah me neither, the kids keep asking why I started off the year so dark and gradually faded. I just keep saying "Cause Mrs. B doesn't want cancer anytime soon." But do they care, no, they want me to have a tan. I want one too...but I am too lazy to pick my butt up and head to the nearest mystic tan.

What are your favorite beach vacation spots?
